The Carolina pinafore features a skirt with four pleats on the front and back, side seam pockets and a gathered back waistband. The length hits just above the knee. The bib is lined and has an optional front pocket. The straps cross in the back, are secured to the skirt with two buttons inside the back waistband and can have an optional ruffle.
This is an easy and quick sew, and looks beautiful either in solid fabrics or in plaid and stripes. Make it in lightweight fabrics to wear over a tee in the summer, or in warmer fabrics paired with tights and a cardigan for the colder months.
RECOMMENDED FABRICS:
Woven cotton fabric such as: lawn, plumetti, seersucker, chambrai, linen, poplin, double gauze, quilting cotton, twill, light wool, viyella, tartan, lightweight corduroy. See the last photo for fabric requirements.
SIZING:
Pattern comes in sizes 3 to 14 years, separated by color and line style.
