New pattern: Marta classic school skirt

Meet the Marta skirt, a kilt style classic skirt that is part of many school uniforms. It’s pleated all around except on the front, that is flat and overlapping.

The skirt closes with a button on the inside of the front waistband, and with either buttons or buckle strap fasteners on the outside. The back waist has an adjustable elastic.

This pattern is designed for medium to heavy weight woven fabrics, and comes in sizes 2 to 14 years old. I made these in light-weight wool, gray viyella, and a red medium-weight polyester blend.
